One of the four simultaneous Kiss solo albums, it was produced by Vini Poncia, who later produced Dynasty and Unmasked for Kiss. Drawing on Criss's Motown and R&B influences, it reworked material from his pre-Kiss band Lips and moved furthest away from the band's hard-rock identity.
