The first Kiss album to officially feature Bruce Kulick as lead guitarist after he finished the previous tour in Mark St. John's place. Produced by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons in New York, it leaned hard into mid-1980s glam metal and MTV styling, with "Tears Are Falling" as the standout single.
